Minutes of the General Body Meeting of IIPA Uttrakhand Branch held on the 10th March 2025 at Doon Library, Dehradun.
Consequent upon the meeting held in the office of Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi on the 22nd January 2025 with the objective to rejuvenate the activities of the IIPA Uttarakhand Branch, a general body meeting of all lIPA Members of Uttarakhand held at Doon Library Meeting Hall, Parade Ground, Dehradun on the 10th March 2025 at 4 pm. Minutes of the meeting held on the 22nd January 2025 and a list of participants are attached. Prof B K Joshi, Former Vice Chancellor, Kumaun University and Chairman, Doon Library Presided over.
Prof B K Joshi, Chairman, Doon Library welcomed the IIPA Members and other participants. Shri N Ravi Shankar, Hony Director Doon Library & Former Chief Secretary, Govt of Uttarakhand read the minutes of the meeting held on the 22nd January 2025 headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand. The decisions recorded in the Minutes were approved in the General Body. Among others, the following expressed their opinions in support of the rejuvenation of l|PA Uttarakhand Branch:
Shri S N Tripathi, Director General, lIPA enthusiastically supported the idea of the rejuvenation of lIPA Uttarakhand Branch and assured all possible support from the lIPA, New Delhi. He appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the Members to rejuvenate the activities of the branch. He did not support the idea of reducing the ilPA membership fee.
Prof V N Alok, Professor, lIPA and Faculty In-charge of lIPA Uttarakhand Branch traced the history of lIPAUttarakhand Branch since the formation of the State of Uttarakhand and appreciated the efforts made in the past, among others, by Dr R S Tolia, Dr M Ramachandran, Shri Das and Dr N Ravi Shankar. He also recalled the meeting that Shri Sandhu, the then Chief Secretary had two years ago for the lIPA branch.
Dr Sudha Pandey, a noted educationist expressed her desire to make the branch as an intellectual hub for the public policy and governance discourse. Shri Shukla, former IFS officer appreciated the efforts and reassured the support of IFS officers' fraternity in the public policy discourses of IIPA. Shri Jairaj lFS Rtd, Former HoFF of Govt of Uttarakhand also shared his views on broad basing Public Administration related activities.
Shri Amitabh Ranjan, Registrar, lIPA urged the participants to have an address, a bank account and a society registration number. He assured all necessary logistic supports from IIPA New Delhi.
The following were decided in the meeting:
The decisions taken on the 22nd January 2025 in the meeting headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand were endorsed by the General Body.
The Chief Secretary of the Government of Uttarakhand will continue to be the ex-officio chairperson of the branch.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Centre for Training, Research and Financial Administration, Suddhowala, Dehradun will host the lIPA Uttarakhand Branch with necessary dedicated staff., Director of the Institute (Shri Arunendra Singh Chauhan) will act as the Secretary of
the branch in his capacity as the Director. He will make all arrangements for the opening of bank account, registration of the society and others necessary for the activities of the branch.
The DG, IIPA proposed the name of Shri N Ravi Shankar for the honorary position of Co chairperson. This was seconded by Prof B K Joshi and approved in the general body.
