The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) conducts research across a wide range of critical areas, including economic and social policies, legal frameworks for administration at various levels, procedural and organizational reforms in government, and citizen-centric governance. Its research portfolio also encompasses key issues such as urban and rural development, disaster management, consumer protection and welfare, poverty alleviation, and gender studies. The Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA) is a prestigious ten-month programme sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. Designed for senior officers from the All India Services, Central Services, Defence Services, Technical Services, and State Governments, APPPA aims to enhance their leadership capabilities, policy analysis skills, and strategic decision-making competencies in the field of public administration. As a key component of the programme, participants are required to submit a dissertation at the conclusion of the course. This research-based exercise provides a practical learning experience, enabling them to apply theoretical insights to real-world administrative challenges.
