Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) has been entrusted with the task to strengthen training and active research in various aspects of tribal welfare, by Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India. For this purpose, a Centre of Excellence has been established at IIPA and is named as the Centre of Tribal Research and Exploration (COTREX). Since its inception, it has been the consistent endeavour of the COTREX to work on the given theme i.e. ‘Tribal Research and Exploration’ focusing on the issues concerning exclusion, inclusion, marginalization, etc. of the tribal communities. As per the mandate of the MoTA and COTREX, quality publications, value-adding workshops, memorial lectures, national seminars, dialogue/ discussions, awareness and extension programmes, inter-COTREX collaborating programmes are to be organized regularly. .
Women’s Day is celebrated globally on 8th March every year in honour of their remarkable contribution to our society. The day also commemorates the inspiring role of women around the world to secure women’s rights and build more equitable societies. Women’s day also remembers the voices of many women that go unheard and who continue to be dominated from securing their rights and realizing their full potential. This year on the International Women’s Day, Centre of Excellence for Tribal Affairs, IIPA felicitated those women who have paved the path towards our progress and struggled to take ‘womanhood’ to a level where it is now.
A core team and Advisory Committee have been created for the aforesaid Centre to Implement and oversee its programme.
