The IIAS established in 1930, is a federation of member States, national sections and academic research centres jointly elaborating public administration solutions to the policy challenges of the day with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

The 2025 Annual Conference of IIAS would be attended by 30 Member Countries, 18 National Sections and over 50 IIAS Universities/ Institutes of Public Administration in Member Countries.

As a nation deeply committed to Multilateralism, Democracy, Meritocracy and Good Governance, India has under Prime Minister Modi, pursued far-reaching administrative reforms under the policy maxim “Maximum Governance–Minimum Government”.

India has contributed significantly to the deliberative democracy, research publications, fiscal processes of budget/ audit through the institutional mechanisms of the Council of Administration and the Finance Committee.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) is an international non-profit organization with scientific purposes. IIAS is a federation of member states, national sections and academic research centres jointly elaborating public governance solutions to the policy challenges of the day.

IIAS OBJECTIVES

IIAS has five objectives:

  1. Organize high impact events targeting and involving both public service and academia.
  2. Produce and dissemination relevant knowledge on public governance.
  3. Enable collaborative and strategic projects with members and partners.
  4. Accredit both academic and professional training programs in line with standards of best practices in public management.
  5. To produce and promote comprehensive content on public governance research and practice to different audiences.

IIAS PROGRAMME AND RESEARCH ADVISORY COMMITTEE PRAC — 2022 - 2025

The Programme and Research Advisory Committee, hereinafter designated as the PRAC, is one of the standing committees of IIAS. The PRAC shall propose to the Council of Administration the themes of the Major Meetings of the Association.

Director General, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Shri S N Tripathi has been co-opted as Member of PRAC

The PRAC contributes to the orientation and evaluation of the Association’s scientific strategy and to the co-ordination of the IIAS scientific activities with those of the Specialised Associations and Regional Groups. The PRAC examines reports from the Rapporteurs of the IIAS Working Groups and from those of the Major Meetings as well as the reports of the Director General, the Publication reports, the Presidents of the Specialised Association, and the Regional Groups.
