Odisha Regional Branch
The Regional Branch of the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Odisha was learnt to have been started some time during the year 1955 at Cuttack. But it was functioning at irregular intervals. Subsequently it was shifted to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha and again became dysfunctional after the last president-ship of B. Shivarman I.C.S. for the period 1960-62, while he was the Member Board of Revenue and thereafter Chief Secretary of Odisha. Again, the functioning of the branch was debilitated for the long period till July 1988 when the then Chief Secretary of Odisha late Nalini Kanta Panda I.A.S. convened a meeting for revival of Regional Branch held in the conference Hall of the Secretariat where Mr. Kalyan Ray I.A.S., Amulya R. Nanda I.A.S., R.M. Senapati I.A.S., Prof Subash Mishra, Prof. Jugal Kishore Mishra and Prof. P.K. Mishra and Secretary of different Deptts of the Govt. were Present. Basing on the decision concluded in the meeting, the Regional Branch was reactivated and made functional during the year 1989. Since then, the Regional Branch I.I.P.A. Odisha has been functioning uninterruptedly in Bhubaneswar. Subsequently with perceptive vision, able Leadership, keen interest and guidance of succeeding chairpersons, the Regional Branch became one the most active branches of the country. This branch is primly located and has been functioning in a spacious govt Quarter allotted by the Govt of Odisha. This branch pursues academic activities and conducts different programme like seminar, webinar workshop, lectures by visiting dignitaries throughout the year and research work on socio-economic, political and administrative problems. We also publish books of relevance and presently publishing a book on ‘Education’. Every year we publish “prashasan” containing the deliberations in seminars/webinars and the thematic Journal. All are edited by our eminent members of academic pursuit. Last two journals on Electoral Reforms and Education were very meticulously and brilliantly edited by Prof. Jugal Kishore Mishra and guided by Chief Editor Sri Sarat Chandra Misra, the present Chairman of the branch. All articles featured in the journal are research oriented which act as reference to scholars, students, academics, administrators, and other professionals. In order to make our presence with activities felt in different intellectual spheres we have made our activities broad based conducting seminar and workshop in Coordination with other institutions such as State Police Academy, State Human Rights Commission, Utkal University, Fakir Mohan University, Balsore, North Odisha University, Baripada, Police Training College, Angul, Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Schools of prominence, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal Deptt of Public Administration, Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar etc. We have a well-maintained Library having more than 2000 books of importance and relevance. We have also our own website; the site id is - www.iipaodisha.org. We also conduct essay and debate Competitions among University and College students annually and give them prizes, certificates and cash awards. We also hold Research Studies and Training Programmes.

(A) Library: The Branch has well-maintained library having 2500 books on various subjects and Public Administration including Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Management History and Biographic of Eminent Personalities
(B) Annual Essay Competition was organised by the Odisha Regional Branch
(C) Annual Debate Competition was organised on 12.12.2021.
(D) Publications - Two Journals and one Book.
