Smt. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India & President IIPA

Smt. Indira Gandhi

Smt. Indira Gandhi was India's first and only female Prime Minister, serving as a central and formidable figure in Indian politics. She held the office from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984. Famously known as the "Iron Lady of India" for her decisive leadership, unyielding resolve, and strong-willed domestic and foreign policies, she remains the second-longest-serving Prime Minister in Indian history after her father.
