Shri Amitabh Ranjan, Registrar

Shri Amitabh Ranjan is a B. Tech. in Petroleum Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and an MBA in HR. He has over a quarter century of experience in diversified fields including Civil Services. He has wide experience of Grassroot Governance and Public Administration including handling of various Govt. Schemes along with Financial Management, General Administration and Capacity Building.
An Alumnus of Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA), National Defense University, Washington DC, he has widely travelled across the Globe for Academic engagements like USA, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
Presently he has been working as Registrar in a leadership position at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi which is one of the premier Training and Research Institution of Govt. of India involved in the Capacity Building of Civil Servants in various fields. The Hon’ble Vice President of India is the President of IIPA while Hon’ble Union Minister of State in Charge of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions is the Chairman of the Governing Board of IIPA.
Earlier he worked as Dy. Director in STQC Directorate, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India and a Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Officer in Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. He was In-Charge of Computerization of Transport Department of U.P. and widely credited for implementation of “Vahan” (for Vehicle registration) and “Sarathi” (for Driving License) as Pilot Projects during his time which are now fully functional in UP.
Being a Petroleum Engineering Graduate and having worked in Transport sector for a reasonable period of time, he has a keen interest in Energy domain, particularly Renewable Energy fields, Energy Transition, Net Zero and Environment and Climate Change etc. His other areas of interest are e-Governance and Digital Transformation.
He is a trouble-shooter, motivator and team-builder with great networking and liaison skills.

Areas of Responsibilities: Head of Finance, Administration and all Academic Support Services, Warden IIPA Hostel, Coordinator, Centre for Learning in ICT and e-Governance, Nodal Officer for e-Office/Paperless office project of IIPA.
