Abstract
The Start-up India initiative devised by the Government of India is a platform for young entrepreneurs to comprehend business and achieve prosperity. This measure has, to a certain extent, created employment opportunities in India. The article briefly discusses the Start-up India policy. It highlights the number of start-ups recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in X, Y and Z metropolitan areas. It also focuses on the ventures that witnessed closure due to the absence of prerequisites.
